Sonic the Hedgehog fans are in for a treat as the Sonic Speed Cafe restaurant announced its return to San Diego, California for 2024; in addition to a near by Sonic Symphony performance and a Shadow-themed motorcycle viewing.
Why it matters: This latest pop-up will have a special focus on Shadow, aligned with the Fearless: Year of Shadow campaign and the scheduled release of the Paramount's third Sonic film.
- It is also the fourth iteration of the collab between SEGA and the Secret Sauce Society, following recent openings near Los Angeles, California; and Houston, Texas.
What to expect: Speed Cafe attendees can expect exclusive Shadow items and merchandise.
- The menu will continue to feature franchise-inspired items; and orders will arrive in custom packaging.
- The grand opening celebration will have special giveaways for the first 25 attendees each day during Comic-Con, scheduled between 25 to 28 July.
- The official Sonic mascot and surprise guest appearances will add to the excitement.
What to watch: Fans can also expect near by Sonic-related activations during Comic-Con.
- Jakks Pacific will talk about upcoming Sonic merch at a Comic-Con panel on 25 July.
- A live Sonic Symphony performance will be held 27 July at the San Diego Civic Centre.
- A custom Shadow-inspired motorcycle will be seen cruising around the Gaslamp District on 27 and 28 July.
Where will it take place? The Speed Cafe activation will occupy the “Chick'N'Cone” location at 910 J Street, Space 2 in San Diego, California.
- It'll open between 11:00 am to 8:30 pm PT, starting on 25 July 2024.
